Born in Flagstaff, AZ Danny Mauz fell in love with rock climbing at the early age of 9. Indoor bouldering sparked a fierce passion for the sport and helping others succeed in their own challenges on and off the rock. Danny and his friends were often dropped off at local climbing areas by his grandma before he was able to drive and often dragged off the rock as the sun set. He has competed in many competitions including two USAC nationals and one World Cup qualification. Recently, he has shifted focus to finding and establishing new aesthetic boulders around Flagstaff and other locations in the southwest. A hard project deep in the forest or a beautiful jug haul, Danny is in it for the true love of climbing and the lessons it has taught about being human. In the summer he works for the US Forest Service as a member of Flagstaff Hotshots fighting wildfires.
