I am a "retired" collegiate swimmer turned CrossFitter. I have been doing CrossFit for just over six months and am already in better shape than I was at any point during my eight-year swimming career. I started CrossFit after my dad, a coach at MaxOxygen CrossFit in Ames (IA), suggested I give it a try to supplement my swim workouts. I was hooked by week two and after a short year back in the pool I decided to switch to CrossFit. I'll admit, I'm nowhere near the best, and I have lots to learn - and even more to improve on - but I think the great thing about CrossFit is that there is always something to learn.
